Taking the tram the other I was struck and kept entertained by how the change to cooler weather brought out such great fashion and style. The Melbourne women were looking sheik, glamorous, elegant, and sassy – you name it there was all sorts of great style going on. Some were dressing up an otherwise conservative black corporate skirt suit with patterned tights while others looked more casual wearing great looking hats with opaque stockings and pumps. There was cashmere, tartan, hats, boots, scarves, trench coats – it was a feast of fabrics, colors and looks.
I am by no means in the fashion business, however I think I have an okay eye for style and all these women that I saw coming off and on the tram had their own great style and looked fabulous. I am afraid to say that the men were looking rather dull in comparison.
Thank you to all those stylish ladies who were able to making taking public transport (an awful experience) far more tolerable.
